FOODS
TWO QUARTERS REQUIRED – ½ CREDIT
The first half of FOODS will consist of learning the basics of food preparation, safety, setting up kitchen lab areas for food preparation, sanitary cleaning methods, time management skills, vocabulary builders, and maintaining a recipe writing booklet including evaluation of recipes. The value of nutrition as it relates to the Food Pyramid is discussed in class. Evaluation of learning will be demonstrated through; crossword puzzles, games, and short answer quizzes. A mid-term exam is required. All missed classwork is to be made up before grade is submitted.
